Bu çalışma, köpeklerde osteosentez öncesi ve sonrası posttravmatik bakteriyel kontaminasyonların araştırılması amacıyla yapıldı. Çalışmada Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Cerrahi Anabilim Dalı Küçük Hayvan Kliniğine kırık şikayeti ile getirilen, farklı yaş, ırk ve cinsiyetteki 15 köpek kullanıldı. Köpeklere, uygun cerrahi koşullar ve tekniklerle osteosentez uygulandı. Osteosentez öncesinde 2 adet, osteosentez bitiminde ve pin ekstirpasyonu sırasında 1'er adet doku ve svap örnekleri alınarak bakteriyolojik kültür yapıldı. Tüm hastalara postoperatif olarak 7 gün boyunca intramüsküler yolla 20mg/kg/12 saat dozda Seftriakson uygulandı. Hastalar postoperatif 21. günde kliniğe çağrılarak radyolojik kontrolleri yapıldı ve kırık iyileşmesi şekillenmiş ise pinleri çıkartıldı. Bu esnada pin yüzeyinden svap alındı ve bakteriyolojik kültür yapıldı. Tüm hastalardan osteosentez öncesinde ve pin ekstirpasyonu sırasında kan alınarak rutin kan sayımları yapıldı. Enfeksiyon etiyolojisi multifaktöriyel olduğu için birçok faktör göz önünde tutularak değerlendirme yapıldı. Bu amaçla hasta yaşı, implantasyondan önce radyografik anormallik varlığı, yumuşak doku hasarı, kırık tipi, hasar-müdahele arası süre, cerrahi kıyafet tipi, internal fiksasyonda kullanılan materyal gibi veriler değerlendirildi. Sonuç olarak çalışmamızda en çok üreyen bakteri koagulaz negatif stafilokok oldu. Çalışmamızdan elde edilen bakteri suşları en çok danofloksasine (% 80,9) sonra penisiline (% 66,6) duyarlı bulundu. Ortopedik operasyonlarda, tüm operasyonlarda olduğu gibi asepsi ve antisepsi kurallarına uymak gerektiği tespit edildi. Postoperatif kontrollerin sadece hematolojik değil aynı zamanda klinik ve radyografik olarak da yapılmasının oldukça önemli olduğu sonucuna varıldı.
İn this study, post-traumatic bacterial contaminations in dogs before and after osteosynthesis was carried out to investigate. In the study 15 dogs is used, in different age, race and sex presented with fracture complaints and brought to Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Small Animal Clinic, Departement of Surgery. Surgical conditions and techniques suitable for dogs underwent osteosynthesis. 2 samples before osteosynthesis and 1 sample after osteosynthesis and during nail extirpation were taken and bacteriological culture was performed. Intramuscular ceftriaxone for 7 days, as a way to all patients underwent postoperatively (20mg/kg/12 hours). Patients are called to clinic at 21 th day of their postoperative, radiologic checks are made and if fracture healed properly, pins are removed. At the same time swaps are taken from the removed pins' surface and bacteriologic culture is made. While osteosynthesis and pin extirpation is done, blood count test is applied to all of the patients. Because infection etiology is multifactorial, evaluation is done by considering many factors. For that purpose, age of the patient, radiographic abnormalitie exsitance before the implantation, soft tissue damage, type of the fracture, time between injury and intervention, surgical apperal type, materials used in internal fixation informations are evaluated. In conclusion the most populating bacteria is coagulase negative staphylococci during our studies. In our studies, gathered bacteria strains mostly are danofloxacin (%80,9) and penicilin (%66,6) sensitive. During orthopedical operations, just like all other operations asepsis and antisepsis rules must be obeyed. In conclusion, it is very important that postoperative controls may not be done only hematologically, at the same time postoperative controls may be done clinically and radiographically.
