XVII. ve XVIII. yüzyıllarda Birgi kazası

Abstract

Birgi, Beylikler Döneminde Anadolu’da oldukça önemli bir kent, Aydıno ullarının ba kenti olarak onların gerek sanat ve gerekse di er alanlarda bıraktıkları mirasın en güçlü örne i idi. Osmanlılar döneminde bir süre daha eski konumunu muhafaza etse de XVII. Yüzyılın sonlarına do ru giderek küçülmeye ve nüfus kaybetmeye ba lamı tır. Bu çalı mada, XVII ve XVIII yy’ da Birgi Kazası’nın önemini yitirerek, Tire Kaza’sının ön plana çıkmasına neden olan etkenler ortaya konulmaya çalı ılmı tır. Tez; Giri , Sonuç ve Özet dı ında 4 tane bölümden olu maktadır. I.Bölümde Birgi adının nereden geldi i, Aydıno ulları ve Osmanlı döneminde Birgi’nin siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik etkileri üzerinde durulmu tur. II. Bölümde Birgi Kaza’sına ait mahalleler ve Birgi Kaza’sının yapısal geli imi, camiler, medreseler ve di er yapılar ve vakıflar incelenmi tir. Bölüm III’ de ise XVII. yy’ da Birgi’nin nüfus hareketleri, Tire’ye göç hareketlerinin nedenleri, Birgi ve çevresinde ya anan vergi ve di er sorunların etkileri de erlendirilerek incelenmi tir. Bölüm IV’ de ise Birgi Kaza’sına ait Avarız defterleri incelenerek mahallede ya ayan ki ilerin nüfus bilgileri ele alınmı tır.

Birgi, which was an important city during the Feudalism period in Anatolia, as a capital of Aydıno ulları was one of the strongest samples and offered not only art but also other fields. Even It has preserved its old position for a while during the Ottoman Period, it started decreasing and loosing population in the late time of 17th century. In this study, it was aimed to present the reasons that affect on loosing the importance of Birgi and getting importance of Tire in the 17th and 18th century. Thesis consists of four chapters except introduction, result and abstract. In the first chapter it was focused on the name of Birgi where it came from, effects of Birgi’s political, social and economic impacts during Aydıno ullları and Ottoman periods. In the second chapter, districts or quarters, constructional history, mosques, Moslem technological school and foundations belonging to Birgi were examined. In the third chapter, population movements of Birgi in the 17th century, the reasons of migratory movements to Tire, impact of tax and other problems in or around Birgi were examined. In the fourth chapter, identity information was handled by examining the Avarız (Tax) Defters in the districts or quarters of Birgi.
