Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nde Covıd-19 vakası ile ilk karşılaşma 11 Mart 2020 tarihinde olsa da açıklanan ilk hayat kaybı 17 Mart 2020 tarihinde yaşanmıştır.Covıd-19'un solunum damlacıklarının diğer kişilere iletimi ya da temas edilmesi halinde bulaştığı belirtilmektedir. 2019 Aralığından itibaren hızla yayılan Covıd-19 virüsü, sadece sağlık alanında olumsuz etkiler yaratmamış, aynı zamanda birçok ekonomik problemlere de yol açmıştır. Ayrıca salgın sonrası gelen kısıtlamalar, insanların turizm sektörüne yönelik taleplerinde bir düşüşün olmasına yol açmış, insanların harcamaları da buna paralel olarak düşüş göstermiştir. Salgın sonrası uygulanan seyahat kısıtlamaları ve uçuş yasaklamaları turizm sektöründe ve bu sektörün çalışanlarında da büyük olumsuzluklar oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışmada turist sayısı, turizm gelirleri ve turistlerin ortalama kişi başı harcamaları için2018 yılının ocak ayından 2022 yılının mart ayına kadarki süreç için Merkez Bankası Elektronik Veri Dağıtım Sistemi'nden elde edilen veriler aracılığıyla Covıd-19 pandemisinin Türkiye'de turizme etkisinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır.Serilerin normal dağılıp dağılmadığı kontrol edilmiş, serilerin normal dağılması halinde bağımsız örneklem t testi; serilerin normal dağılmaması halinde bağımsız örneklem t testinin nonparametrik versiyonu olan Mann Whitney U Testi'nden yararlanılmış veTürkiye'de turist sayılarının, seyahat gelirlerinin ve turistlerin ortalama kişi başı harcamalarının Covıd-19 sonrası dönemde, Covıd-19 öncesi döneme göre nasıl değiştiği incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda Türkiye'nin 2019 yılından 2020 yılına gelindiğinde turizm sektöründe üç katın üzerinde bir daralma yaşandığı, 2021 yılının 2020 yılına oranla ikikat daha fazla turist misafir ettiği saptanmıştır.
Although the first encounter with the Covıd-19 case in the Republic of Turkey was on March 11, 2020, the first reported loss of life occurred on March 17, 2020. The Covıd-19 virus, which has spread rapidly since December 2019, has not only created negative effects in the field of health, but also caused many economic problems. In addition, the restrictions that came after the epidemic caused a decrease in people's demands for the tourism sector, and people's expenditures decreased in parallel. Travel restrictions and flight bans applied after the epidemic created great negativities in the tourism sector and the employees of this sector. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the impact of the Covıd-19 pandemic on tourism in Turkey through the data obtained from the Central Bank Electronic Data Distribution System for the period from January 2018 to March 2022 for the number of tourists, tourism revenues and average per capita expenditure of tourists. It was checked whether the series are normally distributed, and if the series are normally distributed, independent sample t-test; If the series are not normally distributed, the Mann Whitney U Test, which is the nonparametric version of the independent sample t-test, was used and it was examined how the number of tourists, travel income and average per capita expenditure of tourists in Turkey changed in the post-Covıd-19 period compared to the pre-Covıd-19 period. As a result of the study, it was determined that Turkey experienced a contraction of more than three times in the tourism sector from 2019 to 2020, and that 2021 hosted 2 times more tourists compared to 2020.
