With the financial globalization trend after 1980, foreign direct investment and portfolio investments have grown worldwide. In those years, foreign investments were made from developed countries to other countries in order to benefit from the production factors and underground resources of the developing countries. In the 2000s, these investments started to be demanded by developed countries. However, it is seen that the effects of foreign direct investment and portfolio investments on both developed and developing countries economies are not frequently examined together in the literature. The aim of this study, foreign investment( foreign direct investment and foreign portfolio investment) is to demonstrate the effects of advanced and emerging economies. In the study, the economic data of the economies of 15 developed and 15 developing countries, which will be subject to the analysis, between 1993 and 2018 were examined. The study was carried out using the panel data analysis method. As a result of the analysis, the positive effects of foreign direct investments on the economies of developed and developing countries were determined. On the other hand, portfoli investments did not have any effect on the selected variables.
