Bu çalışmada, 1983-2004 yılları arasında Türkiye dış ticaretinin gelişimi ele alınmıştır. Bu dönemde Türkiye’nin öncelikle dış ticaret açıklarını iyileştirmesi ve sonra dış ticaret fazlası vermesini sağlamak üzere belirlenen ve uygulanan ekonomi politikalarının beklenen sonuçları verip vermediği incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme sonucunda, dövizin ulusal para cinsinden değerinin politika değişkeni olarak ayarlanmasının, dış ticaret hadleri üzerinde iyileştirici bir etki yapmadığı saptanmıştır. Türkiye’de uygulanan ihracata dayalı büyüme politikalarının ticaret hadleri üzerindeki etkilerinin yoksullaştıran bir büyüme (immiserizing growth) yaratıp yaratmadığı çalışmada analiz edilmiştir. Bu analiz sonucunda kişi başına reel gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla ve ticaret hadleri arasında negatif yönlü en az bir eş bütünleşme tespit edilmiştir. Dış ticaret hadlerinin hesaplanan gelir etkisinin ise çalışılan dönem için toplamda negatif bir değer olduğu anlaşılmıştır.
In this study, the development of Turkey's foreign trade between 1983-2004 is considered. During this period it's searched if economical politics that's been determined and applied in order to provide Turkey firstly to promote its foreign trade gaps and then to gain foreign trade surplus have got the planned conclusions or not. As a result of this search, it's found that determining the value of the foreign exchange as a national money to be a politics variable doesn't have a positive effect on terms of trade. The effect of the gross national product per capita on terms of trade and whether this effect create “immiserizing growth” or not is also considered and ko integration analysed in this study. As a result of this analysis, it is determined at least one co integration between the terms of trdade and gross national product per capita . The direction of the relation is negative. It's also understood that the accounted income effect of terms of trade is negative in value as a total for the current period.
