The main objectives of this study which was conducted under Tekirdağ conditions and different irrigation
methods in 2006 were to obtain irrigation scheduling of second crop maize (Zea mays L.) under adequate soil
water supply during to whole growing season and under limited soil water supply at the different combinations. In
this research, yield and yield components and yield response factors were determined under the conditions which
0%, 50% and 100% of water requirement was supplied during the whole growing season. As a result, the seasonal
crop evapotranspiration for the furrow and drip irrigation methods changed as 388 - 506 mm and 293 - 429 mm,
respectively. The highest green crop yield was obtained for the furrow and drip irrigation methods as 98.96 t ha
and 92.91 t ha , respectively, from the plots which irrigation water was adequately applied during total growing
season. Generally, the effects of irrigation methods on yield and yield parameters were not statistically
significant, while the effects of irrigation levels on yield and yield parameters were statistically significant. Also,
the objective of this study is to determine the relationship between CWSI which was calculated by using the
empirical approach and yield to be based on irrigation scheduling of maize using infrared thermometer which is
one of the remote sensing techniques.
