Amaç: Tiroid cerrahisi sonrası en sık karşılaşılan komplikasyonlar nervus rekürrens ve nervus laryngeus
superior yaralanmaları, hipoparatiroidi, kanama, hematom, yara enfeksiyonu ve flep ödemidir. Hastayı yaşamı
boyunca etkileyebileceği için önem taşırlar. Bu çalışmanın amacı benign tiroid cerrahisi sonrası gelişen
komplikasyonları etkileyen risk faktörlerinin araştırılmasıdır.
Materyel ve Metod: Mart 1997 - Eylül 2000 tarihleri arasındaAdnan Menderes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Genel
Cerrahi Anabilim Dalı'nda benign tiroid hastalığı nedeniyle opere edilen 224 tiroid olgusu postoperatif
Bulgular: komplikasyonlar açısından retrospektif olarak değerlendirildi. Yaş, cins, antitiroidal ilaç kullanımı, tiroid
hastalığı, nüks guatr, inferior tiroid arterin bağlanması, nervus rekürrensin ve paratiroidlerin görülmesi, yapılan
operasyon tipi ve dren kullanılmasının morbiditeye etkileri araştırıldı.
Komplikasyon gelişmesini etkileyen faktörler arasında total tiroidektomi istatistiksel olarak anlamlı
(p=0.001) bulunmuştur.
Sonuç Cerrahi olarak çıkarılan tiroid doku genişliğinin beraberinde getireceği komplikasyon riski dikkatli bir
teknikle önlenmelidir.
Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the risk factors for postoperative complications after benign thyroid surgery. The most frequent complications after thyroid surgery are recurrent laryngeal nerve and superior laryngeal nerve injury, hypoparathyroidism, bleeding, hematoma, wound infection and flap edema. These complications may influence the life quality of the patient.
Method: In Adnan Menderes University Department of General Surgery, 224 patients who underwent thyroid surgery were evaluated retrospectively for postoperative complications. Age, gender, antithyroideal treatment, thyroid disease, recurrent goitre, ligation of inferior thyroid artery, identification of nervus recurrens and parathyroid glands, extent of resection and usage of drains were investigated for morbidity. Total thyroidectomy was found to be the only statistically significant (p=0.001) risk factor.
Conclusion: The complication risk following wide resection of the thyroid gland should be prevented by a meticulous surgicaltechnique.
