9.sınıf öğrencileri ile gerçekçi matematik eğitimi yaklaşımına göre yürütülen öğretimin başarı, matematik öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyon ve kalıcılık üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Gerçekçi Matematik Eğitimi destekli öğretimin ortaöğretim 9.sınıf Üçgende Eşlik ve Benzerlik konusunda öğrencilerin akademik başarısına, öğrencilerin matematik öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyonlarına ve öğrenilen bilgilerin kalıcılığına olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Materyal-Yöntem: Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Muğla ilinin Fethiye ilçesindeki Fethiye Anadolu Lisesi'nde öğrenim gören 35 deney, 35 kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplamda 70 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen 23 soruluk başarı testi ve matematik öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyon düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacı ile Motivasyon Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Dersler deney grubunda Gerçekçi Matematik Eğitimi esasına dayalı öğretim teknikleri, kontrol grubunda ise mevcut öğretim programına uygun olarak yürütülmüştür. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç: Araştırmanın sonucunda Gerçekçi Matematik Eğitimi destekli öğretimin, mevcut öğretim tekniklerine göre öğrencilerin matematik öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyonları ve akademik başarıları üzerinde olumlu bir etkiye sahip olduğu ancak öğrenilen bilgilerin ve matematik öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyonun kalıcılığı bakımından olumlu bir etkiye sahip olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Purpose: In this study, the effect of Realistic Mathematics Education-assisted education on the students' academic success, students' motivation to learn mathematics and the permanence of the learned information were examined on the subject of 9th grade Triangle Congruence and Similarity. Meterial-Method: The study group of the research consists of a total of 70 students, 35 of which are included in the experimental group and the other half are included in the control group, studying at Fethiye Anatolian High School in Fethiye district of Muğla province. As a data collection tool, a 23-question achievement test developed by the researcher and a Motivation Scale to determine the motivation levels for learning mathematics were used. The lessons were carried out in accordance with the teaching techniques based on Realistic Mathematics Education in the experimental group, wheras they were carried out in accordance with the current curriculum in the control group. The obtained data were analysed using by the SPSS package program. Conclusion: As a result of the research, it was concluded that Realistic Mathematics Education-assisted education instruction had a positive effect on students' motivation to learn mathematics and academic achievement, but it did not have a positive effect on the permanence of the learned information, in terms of current teaching techniques.
