Aydın Arkeoloji Müzesi örnekleriyle Karia bölgesi heykeltıraşlığı

Abstract

Aydın Arkeoloji Müzesi’nde korunan Hellenistik ve Roma İmparatorluk Dönemi’ ne tarihlenen Karia Bölgesi’nden dokuz kent buluntusu 86 heykeltıraşlık eseri çalışma içeriğini, yontuların tipolojik, stilistik ve ikonografik açıdan değerlendirilmesi ise konu ana yönelimini oluşturmaktadır. Bu izleğin, art alan ve gelişimsel bir süreçte tümlenmesi ise 12 bölümleme ile sağlanmıştır. Alabanda buluntusu beş serbest yontu birinci bölümde incelenirken, Antiocheia ad Maeandrum kenti buluntusu, yüksek kabartma ve büst parçalarından oluşan üç plastik eser ikinci bölümde değerlendirilmiştir. Aphrodisias sınırlarında bulunan kabartma, privat portre ve serbest heykelden oluşan altı heykeltıraşlık eseri üçüncü bölümde irdelenmiştir. Bargasa/Piginda’dan figürlü masa ayağı parçası ve privat portre büstünden oluşan iki heykeltıraşlık eseri dördüncü bölüm kapsamında ele alınmıştır. Magnesia ad Maeandrum buluntusu serbest yontu ve kabartma parçasından oluşan iki eser, beşinci bölümde değerlendirilmiştir. Mastaura ad Khrysaorium buluntusu serbest yontu ve figürlü masa ayağı parçasından oluşan iki plastik yontu altıncı bölümde incelenmiştir. Nysa’dan bulunan Herme, kabartma, büst, portre ve serbest heykel niteliğinde 22 plastik eserden oluşan yontu grubu yedinci bölümü oluşturmaktadır. Orthosia buluntuları, çalışma kapsamında bir serbest heykel parçasıyla birlikte sekizinci bölümde değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma içeriğinde buluntu yoğunluğu açısından öne çıkan Tralleis, kabartma, lahit, büst, portre ve üç boyutlu heykellerden oluşan yontu grubu dokuzuncu bölümde incelenmiştir. Onuncu bölümde Karia Bölgesi heykeltıraşlığı ele alınmıştır. Tez kapsamında ulaşılan veriler bütünsel olarak on birinci bölümde tüm detaylarıyla birlikte değerlendirilmiştir. On ikinci ve son bölümde ise incelenen eserlerin kataloglarına yer verilmiştir.

Eighty six sculptural artifacts from nine sites in Karia Region which were dated to Hellenistic and Roman Imperial periods and kept in Aydın Archaeological Museum constitute the content of this study and typological, stilistic and iconographical evaluation of the sculptures is the main focus of it. Integration of this theme in backround and in a evolutional process are ensured within twelve chapters. While five statues from Alabanda were examined in the first chapter, three plastic artifact consist of a relief and bust fragments from Antiocheia ad Maeandrum are evaluated in the second chapter. Six sculptural artifacts from Aphrodisias, which includes a relief, private portraits and statues were scrutunized in the third chapter. Two sculptural element from Bargasa/Piginda, a fragment of a figurated table leg and a private portrait bust, were discussed within the extend of chapter four and two pieces from Magnesia ad Maeandrum including a statue and relief fragment were evaluated in chapter five. Two other plastic sculpture from Mastaura ad Khrysaorium, again a fragment of figurated table leg and a statue were analyzed in the sixth chapter. A culptural group of twenty two plastic artifacts from Nysa, which include a Herme, reliefs, busts, portraits and statues composes the seventh chapther. Within the context of the study, Orthosia was adressed in the eighth chapter with a statue. The sculptural group of reliefs, a sarcophagus, busts, portraits and statues from Tralleis, which is prominent in this study in respect to find density, was examined in the ninth chapter. In the tenth chapter, the sculpture of the Karia Region is discussed. All the accumulated data within the extent of the dissertation, were integrally evaluated in detail in the eleventh chapter. In the twelfth and the last chapter, catalogues of the investigated artifacts were included.
