dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin AB’ye yönelik incir, zeytin, zeytinyağı ve pamuk ihracatı Yunanistan, İtalya, İspanya ve Portekiz karşısında rekabet gücü açısından incelenmiştir. İhracat benzerlik indeksi, açıklanabilir karşılaştırmalı üstünlükler indeksi ve karşılaştırmalı ihracat performans indeksi kullanılarak bu ilgili sektörlerdeki rekabetçi durum belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar Türkiye’nin incirde belirtilen rakip ülkelere karşı ve pamukta ise Yunanistan dışındaki diğer ülkelere karşı rekabet gücünün yüksek olduğunu göstermiştir. Küreselleşme ve AB’ye tam üyelik sürecinde Türkiye’nin ilgili ürünlerde standardizasyon, paketleme, dereceleme gibi kriterleri sağlaması rekabet gücüne olumlu yansıyacaktır. | tr_TR |
dc.description.abstract | Turkey is one of the main producers of olive, olive oil, fig, and cotton together with the Italy, Spain, and Greece because of the its geographic location and Mediterranean climate. Turkey supplies 23.10 % of fig, 7.80% of olive, 4.5% of olive oil, and 4.5% of cotton produced in the world. The speed process of globalization leads to freer international trade and consequently fierce competition in the world. Being competitive is especially important in today's globalizing world. This study examines the competitiveness of Turkey's fig, olive, olive oil, and cotton export to the EU compared with Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The competitiveness of the selected sectors were examined employing export similarity index, revealed comparative advantage, and comparative export performance index. The index values in the selected items were determined for the years of 1990, 1995, 2000, and 2001 in order to observe the trend in the index values. The results showed that Turkey has a high competitiveness in figs among all other concerned countries compared while has competitiveness in cotton again among all other countries compared except Greece. Certain marketing measures such as standardization, packaging, and classification will contribute to the competitiveness for Turkey in the processes of globalization and EU integration. | tr_TR |
