| tr_TR |
dc.description.abstract | Lyme disease is a vector borne multisystemic disease caused by the bacteria B. burgdorferi sensu lato. It is now the most commonly reported arthropod-borne disease in the US , Europe and in Asia. In this study, serum samples obtained from risk group people and cattle were tested for B. burgdorferi-IgG antibodies by ELISA. For this purpose, 65 serum samples obtained from Adnan Menderes University academic staff and students, veterinarians, animal guards and butchers in Aydın and its around and 81 serum samples obtained from 6 farms in Aydın and its provinces were tested by ELISA for B. burgdorferi- IgG antibodies. No IgG antibodies were detected from 65 human sera; however, B. burgdorferi-IgG antibody positivity were determined as 58.02 % in 81 cattle sera. In conclusion, it will be better to designed conduct a new study with large sample size and with sensitive and specific diagnose methods in order to determine were precise prevalence of the Lyme Disease in human and cattle population. | tr_TR |
