| Abstract: | Bu çalışmada, Aydın ve çevresinde yer alan atların diş bozukluk ve hastalıklarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın materyalini, Aydın ili çevresinde bulunan 27’si dişi, 53’ü erkek olmak üzere toplam 80 at oluşturdu. Materyali oluşturan atlar yaşlarına göre 3 gruba ayrıldı. Birinci grup 2-6 yaş arasındaki atlar (34 at), ikinci grup 6-12 yaş arasındaki atlar (33 at), üçüncü grubu ise 12 yaş üzeri atlar (13 at) oluşturdu. Bu atların ırkları 7’si Safkan İngiliz, 7’si Safkan Arap, 56’sı Rahvan, 2’si Haflinger ve 8’i melez olarak dağılım gösterdi. Yapılan diş muayenelerinde, dişlerdeki sayı, durum ve yön düzensizlikleri, kırıklar, aşınma düzensizlikleri, diş çürüğü, diş taşları, diastema ve öğütücü dişlerde keskin kenarlı diş oluşumları yönünden değerlendirildi. Bu değerlendirme sonucunda atlardaki diş bozukluk oranı %84,2 olarak bulundu. Kesici dişlerde en fazla diş düzensizliği (%46,2), canin dişlerde aşınma düzensizlikleri (%47,1), premolar ve molar dişlerde ise rostral hook (%41,9) tespit edildi. Atların yaşları arttıkça diş problemlerinin de arttığı görülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda, Aydın ve çevresinde yer alan atların diş bozukluk ve hastalık oranlarının azımsanmayacak sayıda olduğu ve belirli aralıklarla atlarda diş muayene ve bakımının yapılmasının oluşabilecek bozukluk ve hastalıkların minimize edilebilmesinde yararlı olacağı kanısına varıldı. |
