Sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının değer algıları ile kariyer tercihleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının değer algıları ile kariyer tercihleri arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılmasıdır. Öncelikle öğretmen adaylarının değer algıları ile kariyer tercihlerinin ilişkilendirerek kariyer tercih sürecinde öğretmen adaylarına yardımcı olacaktır. Diğer taraftan değer algıları ile kariyer tercihi ilişkisinin incelenmesi mevcut akademik litaratürü de genişletecektir. Araştırmanın kapsamı, Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi ve Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliğinde okuyan 374 öğretmen adayından oluşmaktadır. Araştırma modeli genel tarama modellerinden betimsel tarama modeli özelliklerine sahiptir. Araştırmada, veriler anket yöntemi ile toplanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak ‘Kişisel Bilgi Formu’, “Bireysel Değerler Ölçeği” ve “Kariyer Boyutları Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel analizinde korelasyon, t-testi ve Anova analizleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın temel bulgusuna göre Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının değer algıları ile kariyer tercihleri arasında yüksek düzeyde, pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte öğretmen adaylarının değer algiları ile kariyer tercihlerinin cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, baba eğitim durumu, baba meslek durumu, ilk ve ortaöğrenimin geçirildiği yerleşim yeri ve aile aylık gelir durumu değişkenine göre anlamlı bir farklılık söz konusudur.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the perception of value of social studies teacher prostective and career choices. First associating their preferred career with the value perceptions of prospective teachers will help teachers in their career choice process. On the other hand, examining the relationship between value perceptions and career choices will broaden the current academic literature. The sample of the study is composed of 374 prospective teachers studying in Social Studies Teacher Education Programs, Education Faculties of Adnan Menderes University and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. The research model has the characteristics of descriptive survey model from general survey models. In the study, data were collected by questionnaires. 'Personal Information Form', 'Individual Value Scale' and 'Career Dimension Scale' were used as data collection tools. Descriptive statistics were calculated, t-test, Anova, and Pearson Correlation analysis were applied for analyzing the data. The main findings of the study indicated there is a significant positive relationship between the value perception and career choices of Social Studies Teacher prostective. In addition, there is a meaningful difference between the value perceptions of the prospective teachers and their career choices in terms of gender, grades, father education status, father occupation status, settlement where primary and secondary education is carried out and family monthly income situation variables.
