Küreselleşme çağında değişen milliyetçi söylemler ve yeni milliyetçilik tipleri: İzmir örneği

Abstract

“Küreselleşme Çağında Değişen Milliyetçi Söylemler ve Yeni Milliyetçilik Tipleri: İzmir Örneği” başlıklı bu tez çalışması, 1990‟lardan itibaren küresel çapta yükselişe geçen “yeni milliyetçi söylemlerin” ve “yeniden üretilen milliyetçilik tiplerinin” varlığına işaret etmektedir. Bu dönüşen ve yeniden üretilen milliyetçilik tiplerinin anlaşılması gruplar arası ilişkilerde hem „birleştirici‟ hem de “ayrıştırıcı” bir işlev gören milliyetçilik ideolojisinin günümüz toplumundaki yerini ve işleyişini anlamak bakımından önemlidir. Buradan yola çıkarak bu tez çalışması, günümüz Türkiye‟sinde yaygın olarak dolaşıma giren milliyetçilik tiplerini ve söylemlerini tespit etmeyi ve bunların siyasi partiler bazında ne ölçüde temsil edildiklerini ve yeniden üretildiklerini çözümlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Günümüz Türkiye‟sinde gözlemlenen milliyetçilik tipleri ve söylemleri izmir örneğinde ve Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi‟nde temsil edilen siyasal partiler bağlamında araştırılmıştır

This thesis study entitled "Changing Nationalist Discourses and New Types of Nationalism in the Age of Globalization: The Case of Izmir", draws attention to the existence of "new nationalist discourses" and the “reproduction of existing types of nationalism" within the context of globalization. Examining these changing and re-produced nationalism types is important in terms of understanding the place and functioning of nationalist ideology as both a unifying and separating force in inter-group relations. Hence, this thesis seeks to identify the commonly circulating types and discourses in contemporary Turkey and to what extent these discourses represented and reproduced by the political parties in the country. The study is conducted in İzmir and covers the main political parties represented in the Turkish Parliament.
