Abstract: Nazilli Sümerbank Basma Fabrikası Cumhuriyetin ilk Basma Fabrikasıdır. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk tarafından açılışı gerçekleştirilen fabrika, ürettiği basmalarla ülkede tekstil alanında büyük bir açığı kapatacaktır. Bunun yanında fabrika ile Nazilli ilçesi ve çevresinde gözle görülür şekilde gelişim hareketleri fark edilecektir. Kente yeni bir kimlik kazandıran fabrika, başta kurulduğu mahalle, olmak üzere birçok yapıya ve kültürel etkinliklere ismini verecektir. Nazilli Cumhuriyet’in ilkleriyle Nazilli Sümerbank Basma Fabrikası sayesinde tanışacak, bugünkü modern yapısına kavuşacaktır. Fabrikanın bünyesinde bulundurduğu sosyo-kültürel unsurlar, zamanla ilçede de etkisini gösterecek, halk daha önce adını dahi bilmediği birçok faaliyeti bizzat yaşayarak öğrenecektir. Nazilli bu sayede ülkedeki pek çok şehirden daha önce kalkınmış şehirlerarasında yer alacaktır.
Nazilli Sumerbank Print Factory is the first print factory of the Republic of Turkey. The factory was opened by the greatest leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and has filled the big gap in the textile industry of the country with producing great products. It has also helped Nazilli and the surrounding towns prosper. The factory modernized the city; and from the street of where the factory was established, lots of buildings and cultural events then followed and were named after the factory.Nazilli would be introduced with the benefits of the republic system with Nazilli Sumerbank Print Factory truly made the city what it is today. The people(nation) would be living and learning the socio-cultural activities brought forth by the factory. Nazilli came to be one of the most rapidly developed cities in the country.
