Kyzikos’lu bir kadın Euergetes : Kraliçe Apollonis

Abstract

Klasik dönemlerden Hellenistik döneme kadar, kadın adaklarının sayıca artışı Grek polisinin değişen durumu ve artan zenginliği ile açıklanabilmiştir. Bu gelişimin en belirgin işareti Klasik dönemin leitourgia sisteminden doğan ve halk yönetimi açısından yeni bir nitelik ve önemkazanan zengin sınıfın euergetizm' i olmuştur. Aynı zamanda Hellenistik dönemin kraliçeleri hayırsever ve kurucu gibi sıfatlarla hareket ederek diğer kadınlara da örnek olmuşlardır.

From Classical times to the Hellenistic period, large-scale dedications by women increase in number as in expense, a phenomenon, which can be explained by growing wealth and the changing situation of the Greek polis. The elearest symptom of this development is the euergetism of the wealthy elite, which derived from the liturgy system of the Classical period but had gained a new quality and importance for the public administration. Also Hellenistic queen s acted as euergetai and founders and could therefore be regarded as role models for other women.
