Efes Müzesi'nden bir grup terrakotta figürin

Abstract

Bu arastırmada Efes Müzesi'ne satın alma ve hediye edilme yoluyla gelen 68 adet Terrakotta Figürini tipolojik ve ikonografik açıdan inceleyerek antik dünya insanının dinsel yapısı, sosyal ve kültürel hayatı hakkında bilgi edinmeyi amaçladık. Tipolojik ve ikonografik açıdan aynı olan tipler arasından en iyi korunmus durumda olan eserleri çalısmamıza dahil ettik. Tek bir merkezden gelen eserler olmadıklarından eserlerin stil ve kronolojik gelisimi ile kil özelliklerini inceleyemedik. Ancak, katalog bölümündeki sıralamaya baglı kalarak eserlerin kronolojik dizimini verebildik. Sonuç olarak arastırmamızın konusu olan eserlerin arasında kült figürinlerinin çogunlukta olması bize, antik dünya insanının kendilerini koruduklarını düsündükleri tanrı ve tanrıçalar için onların gazabından korunmak amacıyla adaklar adadıklarını göstermektedir. Bu adak objeleri arasındaki adak figürinlerinin antik çag insanının dinsel yasamını günümüze degin tasımasındaki önemi büyüktür. Figürinlerimizin çogunlukla Pergamon, Troia, Myrina, Tanagra Halikarnassos ve Theangela terrakottaları ile çagdas ve benzer oldugunu gördük. In this research, we have aimed at collecting data about the religion, social life, and cultural life of people in the ancient world by examining the 68 Terracotta Figurines from the Efes Museum, which were bought by or given to the museum as a present, in typological way and also iconographically. Among the finds which are iconographically and typologically in the same type, we have included in our study the ones which are better-preserved. Because the finds didn?t come from the same layers, we were able to investigate neither the features of the clay nor the chronological and stylistic developments of the finds. Yet, we were able to give the chronological order of finds by being devoted to the listing in order in the catalogue section. Consequently, being the majority of the finds that have been discovered as a subject of our study was consisted of cult figurines has shown us that the people in the ancient world had dedicated some votives to Gods and Goddesses, whom they think protects them, to be able to avoid getting in a rage. The votive figurines among these votive objects have a great importance to carry the traces of religion of ancient people to present-day. We?ve seen that our figurines are contemporary and similar to the ones in Pergamon, Troia, Myrina, Tanagra, Halikarnassos and Theangela.
