Sınıf öğretmenlerinin ve sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının okuma ilgi ve alışkanlıklarının karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, sınıf öğretmeni adayları ile sınıf öğretmenlerinin okuma ilgi ve alışkanlıklarının karşılaştırılmasıdır. Araştırmada, Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi ve Aydın il merkezindeki ilköğretim okulları örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Toplam 151 sınıf öğretmeni adayı ve 203 sınıf öğretmeni araştırma örnekleminde yar almıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, Dökmen (1994) tarafından geliştirilen 'Okuma İlgisi Ölçeği ve Okuma Alışkanlığı Yetişkinler Formu Anketi' ile toplam araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen 'Kişisel Bilgi Formu' uygulanmıştır. Bu araştırmada verilerin yüzde dökümleri alınmış, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, minimum ve maksimum değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Verilere alt problemler doğrultusunda ANOVA (F, t testleri), Scheffe ile LSD testleri uygulanmış ve korelasyon katsayısı hesaplanmıştır Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; Bayan sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının ve sınıf öğretmenlerinin okuma ilgisi ve okuma alışkanlığı erkek sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının ve sınıf öğretnenlerinin okuma ilgi ve alışkanlığından daha yüksektir. Ayrıca araştırma bulguları sınıf öğretmeni adayları ve sınıf öğretmenlerinin okuma ilgisinin 'orta' düzeyde olduğunu göstermektedir. Sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının okuma ilgisi sınıf öğretmenlerini okuma ilgisinden daha yüksektir. Sınıf öğretmeni adayları 'gazete, dergi, mizah ve sanat' kitapları okumayı tercih ederken sınıf öğretmenleri 'gazete, sanat, kültür ve bilimsel kitapları'; okumayı tercih etmektedir. Sınıf öğretmeni adayları 'tv seyretmeyi tercih etme, vakit bulamama;sınıf öğretmenleri ise 'yorgun olma ve tv seyretmeyi tercih etme' nedenleriyle yeterince kitap okuyamadıklarını söylemektedir. Sınıf öğretmeni adayları ile sınıf öğretmenlerinin okuma ilgisi toplam puanlarının yüksek olduğu ve okuma ilgisi toplam puanları ile 'ayda okunan kitap sayısı, ayda okunan dergi sayısı ve sahip olunan kitap sayısı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmektedir.

The aim of this research is c ompare with the candidate classroom teachers and the classroom teachers' reading interests and habits. Adnan Menderes University, Education Faculty and The Primary Schools in Aydın were chosen for the sample of the study. Totally 151 candidate classroom teachers and 203 classroom teachers took in the study sampling. Research instruments are 'Reading Interest Scale', 'Adult Form for Interests Questionnaire' developed by Dökmen (1994), and 'personal information form' which has prepared by the researchers. In this study, percentage distribution, mean, standart deviation and nmaximum minimum of value of data were calculated. x2 analyses were made. ANOVA (f, t tests) were applied and coralations coefficients were calculated in the direction of sub-problems. According to results of the study, Reading interests of the female candidate classroom teachers and female classroom teachers is higher than male candidate classroom teachers and male classroom teachers'. Besides, the results of study indicate that reading interests and reading habits of the participants are at medium level. The candidate classroom teachers' reading interests is higher than the classroom teachers' reading interests. While the candidate classroom teachers prefer that reading 'newspapers, journals, humour and science books'; the classroom teachers prefer that reading 'newspapers, arts, culture and science books. The candidate classroom teachers says that the causes of can't reading books enough are 'watching tv' and can't find enough time'however the classroom teachers says that 'watching tv and to be tired'. Total score reading interests of the participants is at 'high-proficient' level and there is significant coralation among number of reading books, journals in months and number of having books.
