Veriler, iki Anadolu Lisesi, Kız Meslek Lisesi ve Endüstri Meslek Lisesi olmak üzere toplam 4 okulda, 16 öğretmenden görüşme yolu ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bazı bulguları şöyledir: Öğretmen görüşlerine göre okul amaçlarını geliştirmede Anadolu Lisesi okul müdürlerinin daha çok; okul proje çalışmalarını teşvik etme, sosyal kültürel etkinlikleri teşvik etme, akademik başarıyı artırma, meslek lisesi okul müdürlerinin bakanlığın projelerini uygulama ve destekleme, alan etkinlikleri düzenleme gibi çalışmalar yaptıkları, üst düzey amaçlar belirlemedikleri; bazı öğretmenlerin derslerini denetlediği, denetleme ile ilgili olarak değerlendirme yapmadığı, ya da genel cümlelerle kısa bir değerlendirme yaptığı belirtilmiştir. Her iki okul türünde ders programları arasında koordinasyonu öğretmen, okulun genel etkinliklerinde ise koordinasyonu okul müdürünün kendi ya da müdür yardımcıları aracılığı ile sağladığı, öğrenci başarısının öğretmenler kurulu ve şube öğretmenler kurulu toplantılarında değerlendirdiği saptanmıştır.; The aim of this study is to investigate how the instructional leadership roles of the school principals of the high schools are described by teachers. The data was collected at 4 schools in total, two of which are Anatolian high schools, one Girls Vocational School and one Industrial Vocational School through interviews with 16 teachers. Some of the findings of the research are as follows: According to the teachers, in order to enhance the goals of the schools, the school principals of the Anatolian High schools tend to encourage the project studies and social and cultural activities, improve academic success while the principals of Vocational High Schools tend to support and apply the projects of the Ministry, organize department activities more than setting higher level goals. It was stated by the teachers that they only inspect some teachers in class but they did not make any assessment of the inspection or only with very short statements even if they did. For teachers in either type of schools the coordination related to the academic programs were provided by the teachers while school-wide activities by the school principals and assistant principals; the academic success level of the students were discussed among teachers and administrators in various meetings.
